Mansong is located in Mengla County, Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, within the historic Yibang tea mountain area—one of the Ancient Six Tea Mountains. Since the Ming and Qing dynasties, Mansong tea has been valued for its rarity, refined character and naturally sweet flavour. It was traditionally associated with imperial tribute tea and is sometimes described as “gold among teas.”
Mansong tea is mainly made from small- to medium-leaf cultivars grown in mineral-rich purple-red soil. The liquor is sweet, smooth and delicate, with very little bitterness, elegant floral notes and a honey-like sweetness in the throat. Its energy is subtle yet deep, with a long-lasting aftertaste and a gentle but powerful mountain character.
